Question—What are you responsible for?

 

———-Today we took a side step from our regular class material to talk about current events.  In Ohio a young man decided to enter a cafeteria and start shooting.  As a result now 3 students all under 17 years old have died.  Today as a class I read to you several articles about kids being bullied some of whom ended up taking their own lives.  Kids being bullied for possible being gay, being Muslim, dating the star athlete, being overweight, just because.  We had a great discussion about right and wrong.  My goal is not to tell you what to believe but only to education that there are people out there that are different than you and that believe different things than you and that is ok.  You don’t have to like it or agree with it but you have a right to be and live how you want and others have that same right.  For the articles I read click here.  Your assignment due tomorrow to write 1 page minimum talking about the following:

 1) based on 1 or all the articles I read in class tell me what you think, how does it make you feel

2) Talk about if there was a time you bullied someone

3) Talk about a time you were bullied

4) Talk about what you can do to prevent bullying

5) Talk about what others can do to prevent bullying

6) Talk about what someone should do if they are being bullied

7) Talk about why bullying is bad and should not be tolerated.

 

February 28th

Today 1st period took an Fcat practice writing assessment. This is something you all know how to do especially since we just finished writing an essay on Greece.   So the rest of us worked on created a travel brochure for Rome.  It is due at the end of the hour and it must include the following:

1) A catchy slogan for Rome

2) A map of Italy with Rome properly labeled

3) Explain and illustrate at least 3 places/things you could visit

4) Explain and illustrate at least 2 people you could possible meet

———-Today your current events were do so we did our presentations.  Any time that was left we used to play a card game with our trading cards.  You have more that enough time and all the tools you needed to get this done properly.  I certainly hope you did.  For the game we played click here

February 25th

I have given you everything you needed to do this assignment.  EVERYTHING IS DUE ON MONDAY!!!!!!!!!!

February 23rd

Today you worked again. Tomorrow you willl be in the lab so you can print and type whatever you need. These cards will be due first thing on Monday. You have had all the time/material/info you needed to get an A on this project. If you don’t you have no one to blame but yourself. Make the right choices. You can do it!!!!
